Terms of Use
These terms apply to the Proof of Faith website (the “site”), operated by the team behind Proof of Faith (“we”, “us”). By using the site, voting, making an offering or adding a coin, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the site.
1. What the site is
Proof of Faith is a game. Crypto communities compete on a public leaderboard for the coin they believe in, with a free vote each day and, if they want, offerings in crypto. Each vote and each dollar offered adds faith, and each era the coin with the most faith is shown as the winner. That is all it does.
Votes are free and give no right of any kind. An offering is a payment to us, the operator of the site. It is not a donation to any coin, project, foundation, charity or religious organisation, not an investment, and not a bet. Nothing is paid out to winners, and offerings give you no ownership, return, share or right of any kind other than having your offering counted and shown on the site.
2. Who can take part
You must be at least 18 years old and allowed to use crypto and make such payments where you live. You are responsible for complying with the laws of your country, including tax.
3. Votes and offerings
- Each person may vote once per day (the day changes at midnight UTC). Votes made with scripts, bots or many browsers to get around this limit are not allowed, and we may remove them.
- Offerings are paid directly on a public blockchain to a wallet we control. No payment provider is involved. You choose the coin you back on the site, and the coin and network you pay with.
- Send at least the amount shown, in the coin and on the network shown, to the address shown, then give us the transaction ID. Funds sent in another coin, on another network or to another address may be lost, and we cannot recover them.
- An offering counts once its transaction is confirmed on the blockchain. The amount counted is the value that reached our address, at the exchange rate shown when you started the offering.
- A transaction can be used for one offering only, and only if it was sent for that offering.
- Offerings are final and non-refundable, except where the law requires otherwise.
- Network fees are paid by you.
4. Eras and results
Each era has a start and end date shown on the site. Only votes cast and offerings confirmed during an era count for it. The winner is the coin with the most faith when the era ends. We may correct the boards if a payment fails, a vote breaks these terms, or something was counted by mistake.
5. Names and messages
You may add a display name to a vote or an offering, and a short public message to an offering. They must not be unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, impersonate someone else, infringe anyone's rights, or advertise. Links are removed automatically and offensive words are masked. We may hide or remove any name or message at our discretion, without refunding the offering. A message is hidden automatically once enough different people report it.
6. Coins added by visitors
- Anyone can add a coin that is not yet in the race, for free, if it is listed on CoinGecko. It is shown as “Added” and joins the race straight away.
- A coin in the race is not an endorsement, recommendation or investment advice, and we do not check, audit or vouch for any coin or project.
- We may remove an added coin at any time, for example if it looks like spam or a scam, if the law, a court or an authority requires it, or if the coin no longer exists or is no longer listed on CoinGecko.
7. Crypto risks
Crypto prices move quickly, transactions cannot be reversed, and coins can lose all their value or stop working. The site shows community activity, not prices or advice. Nothing on the site is financial, investment, legal or tax advice. Do your own research before buying or holding any coin.
8. Coin names and logos
Coin names and logos are trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to identify each coin. The site is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any coin, project or foundation.
9. The site is provided as is
We do our best to keep the site running and the boards accurate, but we provide it “as is”, without guarantees. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, lost profits, lost funds caused by payments sent incorrectly, outages, or the actions of blockchains, wallets, exchanges or other users. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
10. Changes
We may change these terms, the rules of future eras and the site itself. Changes apply from the date they are published here and do not affect offerings already confirmed.
11. Law and contact
These terms are governed by French law, and the French courts have jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection in your country of residence.
